For those who do not know, Kochia is a species of grass in the Marjoram family, whose Japanese name is Hokiguse. It comes in many varieties, often dried to make brooms or the fruit can be processed into the food "Donburi", referred to as "caviar in the field".

In Japan, the most famous place to see Kochia grassland is Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki Prefecture. Spanning an area of about 1.9 hectares, Kochia grass here is just an ornamental plant with about 32,000 plants.

The most special feature of this plant is that it can change color depending on the time of year. In the summer (from mid-July to the end of September), the leaves of Kochia trees are bright green. When autumn - winter (early October onwards), the whole field of Kochia is dyed brilliantly red and pink.
